Continental Divide Trail Coalition Adopter Training

Join the Continental Divide Trail Coalition and the Mt Taylor Ranger District in a one day Trail Maintenance Workshop for prospective CDTC Adopters on Saturday, July 13.

Participants will learn basic trail assessment, maintenance, and construction techniques in a combined classroom and field setting. New and experienced volunteers are encouraged to attend, learn new skills, and share ideas.

This workshop is open to all current and prospective CDTC volunteers and is required training for CDTC Adopters in the Cibola and Carson National Forest.

Please bring lunch, day pack, sun protection, hat, water, closed toe shoes, long pants and long-sleeve shirt. Bring work gloves if you have them.

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Lunch
12 to 12:30 p.m.

Caravan to Trailhead
12:30 p.m.

CDT Trail Maintenance Field Demo
1 to 4 p.m.

Win a Yeti Cooler

The Cibola Trail Alliance is raffling off this awesome Yeti Tundra Haul Cooler. Proceeds from this raffle help us to advocate for new multi-use trails and maintain existing ones in the Cibola area. The CTA is working hard to create recreational opportunities for our community and you can be a part of our mission.

2nd Annual Quartz Crusher Update

Here is a bit of an update on the Quartz Crusher from organizer Christopher Baca, who is also the Vice President for the CTA.

Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m.,, Pat Valdivia and I will be hosting course pre-rides with optional trail work after.

 If you want to help with trail work please just let me know ahead of time and we will meet with you immediately following the ride.

May 4 is a scheduled trail work day. If you haven't yet, please visit the Cibola Trail Alliance website to see the event calendar. https://www.cibolatrails.org/events

May 8 - 10, we will be marking the racecourse. Pat Valdivia, Anna Larson and I plan to be there. Contact Pat or myself in advanced if you'd like to help. We have 27 miles of trail to mark so all help is appreciated. 

May 10 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Packet pickup at Elkins Brewery. We have several volunteers on hand for this, but the more the merrier. 

May 11th, Race Day. Volunteers should start arriving at start/finish line at 6 a.m. Mandatory racer meeting at 7:45. Race begins promptly at 8 a.m.
